This work of the student Vanessa Costalonga aims to present the studies and reasons that served as a guide for the project developed in the subject of graduation in Architecture - FAU UNB 1/2015.

The project in question is a criminal building, in its simplest design. However, it is not a criminal building as it is known and how it currently builds. His main motivation was the crisis of the Brazilian prison system and the various multidisciplinary studies on the subject, pointing to lack of constructive alternatives. This project is a response to Brazilian prison reality and the need to discuss new possibilities for criminal architecture. Aims to make a critical proposal, a reflection on look at a problem from different angles. It attempted to question the pre-established bases the current penal architecture, their mistakes and successes.
